This plugin sounds simple (keep the game running while a menu is open, and add a pause screen), but was pretty complex to make in the end due to some engine limitations and assumptions. Still, it feels polished and should add a lot to immersive-casual and more action-oriented games. The pause function by itself should be useful for game with long video cutscenes, too.

Everything added by this plugin is easily customisable, including keyboard and gamepad bindings.

It also works seamlessly with SumRndmDde’s Super Tools Engine (for RPG Maker MV), which lets you edit menu layouts to show more of the background, as well as adjust the command window on the pause screen.

You Map Event logic can optionally continue to run while a menu is open, and you can conveniently interrupt any menu with a Plugin Command if necessary. Parallel Common Events continue to run during live menus unconditionally.
